As we face pressing global challenges from climate change to rising energy costs Passivhaus design is a leading performance standard for the design and construction of new buildings. Buildings can be up to 90% more energy efficient using this methodology. As a certified passive house designer (CEPH), Jonathan applies Passivhaus-led design principles to much of our work.

Passivhaus
To make the greatest energy savings through Passivhaus design, early-stage, multi-disciplinary design team engagement, is imperative.
We have found that choosing designers with first-hand practical experience and understanding of designing and building Passivhaus projects gets the best results. Jonathan is more than happy to introduce you to our trusted network of service providers if needed.
Our Passivhaus design process centres on having much of the design almost passive house ready before applying for planning permission. This includes calculating site massing studies and analysing the house orientation in relation to the sun to select the best location of the building. We then design the windows and openings in line with this orientation and look at material selection and how continuous insulation can be wrapped around the building envelope for thermal efficiency.
EnerPHit is the Passivhaus certified equivalent for retrofit projects.
